Specialty Deep Diving Course

This course is designed to help you develop your deep diving skills, because deep diving is (if you do it right!) safe and rightly popular. Deep diving opens up a variety of new and exciting dive sites, e.g. spectacular reefs and/or famous wrecks. After successful completion of this speciality course, the diver is entitled to participate in guided dives up to 40 metres. (Without this speciality, the depth limit for guided dives is 30 metres).

Course content:

- Planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of deep diving.
- Risk factors and dive table review
- Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures
- Considerations for special equipment, descent ropes and buoyancy control
- Procedures for flying after diving

Course prerequisite:

- Minimum age 15 years
- Certification as a PADI Adventure Diver or proof of an equivalent certification.

Course content

This speciality course is an introduction to night diving to familiarise divers with skills, knowledge, planning, organisation, procedures, techniques,

problems, hazards and the fun of diving at night. Fun and safety are at the forefront of the training.

Participation requirements

PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or qualifying certification

Minimum age: 12 years

 

 

Mandatory equipment.

- Recreational Dive Planner - eRDP/Tablet

- Writing tablet and pen

- Complete instrumentation including the ability to monitor depth, time and heading. Dive computers may be used.

- Diving tool or knife

- Main lamp

- Reserve lamp

- One chemical light stick or battery-powered lamp per diver

Course content

 

1. to enable you to plan and conduct no-stop dives using Enriched Air with a Nitrox-capable dive computer, primarily with mixtures containing between 22% and 40% oxygen, and to remain within accepted dive table limits and oxygen exposure limits on these dives.

2. be able to obtain and maintain equipment for diving with enriched air.

3. to enable you to manage and avoid potential hazards with Enriched Air.

4. enable you to use a nitrox compatible dive computer and to take advantage of the benefits of diving with enriched air in the context of recreational diving.

PADI Enriched Air Diver Manual (student), PADI Enriched Air Diving Video or PADI Online Enriched Air Diver Course.

 

 

Participation requirements

 

- Be a certified PADI Open Water Diver, or have a qualifying certification from another

another diver training organisation, or

- Be a PADI Open Water Diver student concurrently enrolled in the PADI Enriched Air Diver course.

In order to participate in the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Course, you must

1. be certified as a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or hold a qualifying certification.

The Adventure Dive conducted as part of the PADI Adventures in Diving programme.
